1964年7月生于枣强县。1982.9-1991.6在南开大学化学系学习并获理学博士学位。毕业后一直在天津大学化学系任教，1997.11-1998.11、2001.11-2002.5、2003.1-2003.3先后在美国Bowling Green State University 和Southern Illinois University做访问学者。
现任中国民主促进会天津大学副主委、天津大学化学系主任、博士生导师。
研究方向
主要从事杂环化合物的激发态化学、氨基酸及核衍生物合成与生物活性、有机化合物结构及反应机理的计算化学等方面的理论研究，光功能聚合物、消毒剂、医药中间体、香料等的合成工艺与产业化方面的应用研究。主持国家自然科学基金、天津市自然科学基金、教育部骨干教师基金和横向研究课题10多项。
个人成就
在国内外重要学术期刊上发表学术论文60多篇（其中SCI检索40余篇），申请专利6项。曾荣获96 年天津大学顶新集团奖教金；97年天津市新长征突击手荣誉称号；99年天津大学十佳杰出青年荣誉称号；99年宝钢教育基金会优秀教师奖；00年霍英东优秀教师二等奖；01年“高效消毒剂二氯一溴异氰尿酸的研制和应用”获军队科学技术进步三等奖。
