Rudebox是Robbie的第七张录音室专辑，原本的名字定为1974——Robbie出生的那一年，后来改为Rudebox 74，再后来直接叫Rudebox了。专辑的发行的日期也从9月份一再推到了10月23日。新专辑的制作人有多位，其中包括Madonna的御用制作人William orbit以及Pet Shop Boys。专辑中一共包含了16首歌曲，其中有三支翻唱歌曲。首支单曲Rudebox 9月4日发行，上榜两周后拿到UK单曲榜的第四名，但是却被英国《太阳报》评为“历史上最差的歌曲('the worst song ever')”。第二支单曲已经确定为翻唱自Lewis Taylor的Lovelight。一首有争议的The 90s批评了Take That的经纪人Martin-Smith，以至于后者一直要求将这首歌从专辑中移去。

Rudebox will be released in October 2006. It was originally going to be called 1974, the year Williams was born. The lead single and title track ""Rudebox"" was released on September 4th and is based on a sample from the Sly \u0026 Robbie track ""Boops (Here To Go)"". Reviews so far have been mixed, and The Sun even went as far as to describe it as 'the worst song ever'. On downloads alone it entered The Official UK Singles Chart at number 30 on September 3. After the release of the CD single the next week, it rose 26 places to number 4.
""Rudebox is loads of different things, sometimes it could be a vibe delivered in a spaceship direct to the studio, sometimes it’s a really nasty girl dancing scantily clad, or sometimes it’s a giant Soundsystem… Sometimes it’s actually just a box that tells you to piss off too."" said Williams about the song.
The forthcoming album, which will be Williams' seventh studio LP, is set to feature collaborations with William Orbit and two collaborations with Pet Shop Boys: ""She's Madonna"" and ""We're The Pet Shop Boys"".
""She's Madonna"" was the centre of a tabloid storm after Ashley Hamilton claimed that he came up with part of the song with Williams. Hamilton has claimed he wishes to take the matter to court as he is not credited as a co-writer on the album.
Further controversyaroseover the track ""The 90s"", part of which implies that Williams was ripped off by Take That's manager Nigel Martin-Smith after the band failed to make a profit from a European tour. The song rose the ire of Martin-Smith, who demanded that the song be removed from the album.
