刘丽君是一位女性教授，目前在山东农业大学林学院任教。她于2003年获得山东师范大学学士，2008年获得中国科学院上海植物生理生态研究所的植物学博士学位。在2008年至2015年期间，她在美国加利福尼亚大学戴维斯分校和美国农业部林务局从事博士后研究。2015年，她被选为中国农业科学院“青年英才”A类，并于同年10月开始在山东农业大学林学院任教。刘丽君在植物界 Cell、现代生物出版集团 Genomics、New Phytologist、Plant Journal等SCI杂志上发表了多篇学术论文，其中她作为第一作者或通讯作者的论文被引用超过250次。她的研究成果包括光周期调控开花时间和杨属次生生长转录调控等方面。其中，她的New Phytologist研究论文被评为“New Phytologist Editor’s Choice January 2015”论文。

以杨树为研究材料深入解析林木次生生长的调控网络。
1.次生生长转录调控的表观遗传调控机理：综合利用遗传学、分子生物学、基因组学(ChIP-seq、核糖核酸seq等)及生物信息学等方法系统分析次生生长过程中表观遗传修饰的动态变化及其与基因转录水平的相关性。
2.形成层干细胞的维持和分化，韧皮部-木质部的分化平衡。
